The Gulf Flounder, scientifically known as Paralichthys albigutta, is a flatfish species found in the Gulf of Mexico and along the southeastern coast of the United States. It belongs to the family Paralichthyidae and is known for its distinctive flattened body and ability to camouflage itself against sandy or muddy ocean bottoms. Not a typical aquarium fish because it requires large tanks with a sandy bottom.
